Salford City return to The Peninsula Stadium for another Tuesday night under the floodlights, against Bromley, in a rearranged league fixture in Sky Bet League Two (KO 19:45).

This game was originally scheduled for November, but was postponed on the day after a heavy downpour in the build-up to the warm-ups. As a result, this fixture has now become the second consecutive Tuesday for Karl Robinson's side playing at The Peninsula Stadium, and follows last week's eventful draw with Newport County.

This latest midweek encounter takes place after Saturday's trip to league leaders Walsall, where The Ammies battled to make it back-to-back draws in the division. At the same time, Bromley fell to their second consecutive defeat with a home loss to Grimsby Town.

Heading into Tuesday night both sides will be looking to return to winning ways, with Salford now four league games without a win, and Bromley five. However, The Ammies do sit one place and three points outside the play-off positions before kick-off, and nine points ahead of The Ravens.

Saturday’s draw at Walsall saw Cole Stockton make double figures for the season, scoring his eighth league goal of the campaign and his 10th in all competitions. This tally puts the Salford marksman four goals behind his Bromley counterpart Michael Cheek, who is currently on 13 league goals scored.

In addition, Stockton’s strike partner from Saturday Hakeeb Adelakun has now scored in consecutive games, netting his fifth league goal for The Ammies with a cooly taken second half finish at the weekend.

A former Bromley player in the Salford squad is Haji Mnoga, with the 22-year-old having made seven appearances for the London club whilst on loan from Portsmouth during the 2021-22 season.

This will be the first time that the two sides have met in the English Football League, but The Ammies have played Bromley twice before when both clubs were members of the National League. On both of those occasions in the 2018-19 season, Salford were victorious.

In the away encounter in August 2018, Graham Alexander's side picked up a 2-0 victory at Hayes Lane with goals from Rory Gaffney and Tom Walker. However, the meeting back at The Peninsula Stadium that season may be more memorable for supporters when a stoppage time goal from Nathan Pond sealed a comeback 2-1 win, and sent The Ammies up to second place in the league going into the final month of the campaign.

TEAM NEWS

Salford will be further short on numbers with Liam Shephard and Tom Edwards both being withdrawn injured on Saturday in the West Midlands, adding to the injured list of Ossama Ashley, Kelly Nmai, Ben Woodburn, Dan Chesters, Luke Garbutt and Josh Austerfield.

On a lighter note, if selected to play Matthew Lund will make his 150th appearance for the club since joining ahead of the 2021-22 season.
