Karl Robinson was proud of his players and frustrated with decisions following Salford City’s 0-0 draw away at Crawley Town on the final day of the Sky Bet League Two season.

Salford had a boatload of chances to win the contest through Ade Oluwo, Dan Udoh and Cole Stockton, but Jacob Chapman in goal for Crawley made some brilliant saves to keep the hosts level. Despite a relentless last few minutes in West Sussex though, the Ammies couldn’t find the goal that would have clinched automatic promotion as Cambridge drew 0-0 at Crewe.

Speaking to SCFC TV after the game, Karl said:

“We’ve been brilliant all season. I’ve been so thankful to every single one of my players, from game one to game 46. We’ve been superb and the fans over this period have started to believe that there’s something special.

“The first instances, we have to take the chances we created. If you look at the performances between the boxes, we were very good but you can’t miss what we missed today.

"This time last year, Carlisle, we missed out on the last day. Today we've done everything we possibly can and Salford City are in the play-offs again, we've finished fourth but come on, let's go, we'll do it the Salford way."
