Bio
Tough tackling Ossama Ashley signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2023, joining from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder broke through into The Us' squad in the second half of 2022-23, and was unbeaten in 15 of 20 outings for the Essex side in 2023.
Ash's career started at AFC Wimbledon where he made his senior debut in an EFL Trophy game in 2017-18 at 17-years-old. However he didn’t make any further appearances for the Dons and after being released in 2020 he signed for West Ham United. He made further appearances in the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2, and joined Colchester in 2022 after a trial pre-season.
“I spoke to the Gaffer, he proposed the project to me and his plans for next season and how he sees me in that role and that was something that really stood out for me. His style of football to really get the ball moving is something that’s very attractive."
Now beginning his third season with Salford City, the 25-year-old made 33 league appearances for the Ammies during the 2024–25 campaign and scored his first competitive goal for the club in the 3–1 away win at Morecambe in April 2025. Ashley was subsequently voted Salford City Supporters’ Player of the Year.
